Our mission, is to build an on-going, multifaceted educational and cultural platform to share the ideals, knowledge and practices of the Shaolin Temple within the United States.

OUR LOGO - MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
At Shaolin Temple Cultural Center, our logo has three major features in the design, the top circle, the two crescents and the bottom line. Here's a little break down as to what each on means...

In Shaolin Temple our major culture components can be divided into four groups of study by a practitioner, Chan, Kung Fu, Medicine and Art. In the logo, the circle represents Chan (as if the mind); the crescents are the Kung fu (as if the arms and the legs); the line is medicine (as if herbs comes from the earth); and all together is an Art. Thus, the logo gives us a representation of Shaolin Culture.

From a Buddhist standpoint: all physical form is manifested from the four elements: Water, Earth, Fire, Wind. In the logo: The circle is Water; the crescents are Fire; the Line is Earth, and all three combined are Wind. Lastly, in Chinese Culture, there are three realms that are interdependent: Heaven, People and Earth. In the logo, the Circle represents Heaven, the crescents are people, and the line is Earth.
